WA Heavy Vehicle Pilot Licence (HVPL) Training

Get accredited to pilot oversize and overmass (OSOM) loads into Western Australia. GJ Trans Training provides Main Roads WA–recognised Heavy Vehicle Pilot Licence (HVPL) training for pilots who already hold a current Victorian (Certified) or Queensland (Escort) licence.

What the WA HVPL training covers

Training covers the W.A. Authorised Person accreditation under WA regulations, bridge supervision, and how to control traffic without using a stop/slow bat. On completion you will have the knowledge to pilot and escort oversized loads into Western Australia.

Requirements

You must hold a current Victorian Pilot Certification with a Statement of Attainment (SoA) completed within the last 12 months. Queensland and NT licence holders must also show an SoA with the required five-module training completed within the last 12 months.

Course format

The WA component is an additional 4–5 hours and can be combined with our CPVD course. In-person, practical training only.
